Formal Training

The County Records Program provides various training opportunities. Courses offered to county employees through the county Office of Organizational Effectiveness include Records Management Basics and Public Records Policy. A third course, Electronic Records Management, is in development. Information about the courses follows:

Other organizations have online training information that relates to county records issues. A brief description and links follow:

* HIPAA: county employees who work with records that contain protected health information (PHI) must be trained on county HIPAA policy. For more information visit the county HIPAA website or contact your department privacy official.

* Public Records Law: The Department of Justice publishes the Attorney General's Public Records and Meetings Manual biennially. Ordering information and excerpts can be found here.
