Multnomah County Mental Health and Addiction Services Division strives to provide services that support recovery and optimal human development, and to encourage consumers to achieve their full potential.

Mental Health and Addiction Services Strategic Plan Summary

Who we serve: Adults, adolescents and children with mental illness, emotional and addictive disorders (including alcohol, other drugs and gambling).

Services: The Mental Health and Addiction Services Division develops, mobilizes and manages a wide array of services. They include:

  • Crisis intervention--Do you or does someone you know need help with a mental health or addiction problem? If so, contact our Call Center at 503-988-4888 or 1-800-716-9769. The Call Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with mental health professionals who can help you connect with available resources.
  • Assessment and referral for mental health and addictions
  • Providing or contracting for a continuum of treatment services for mental health and addictions that include case management and care coordination services
  • Verity Mental Health Organization provides Mental Health Services coverage for Oregon Health Plan Enrollees in Multnomah County
  • Local Mental Health Authority is responsible for certifying Mental Health Service Providers
  • Protective services (For adult consumers, abuse and neglect allegations)
  • Complaint investigation (for services provided to consumers)
  • Facilitating access and authorizing reimbursement to providers
  • Involuntary commitment services (For at risk Mental Health consumers)
  • Monitoring and improving the availability, accessibility and quality of services for mentally ill and chemically dependent persons
  • DUII Services
