County Attorney files lawsuits to collect local income tax
The Multnomah County Attorney's office filed its first lawsuits with the Multnomah County Circuit Court against individuals who have not paid the County's voter-approved temporary income tax for 2003. The defendants have not responded to numerous attempts by the County to collect the tax, including a ten-day Final Notice to avoid having a lawsuit filed. Read press release

County, Schools Plan for End of Tax
In preparation for the end of the county income tax and the ongoing fiscal structural deficit, a budget priority setting process is underway. Questions and and opportunities for public invovement are on the Budget Priority Setting Website.
